April 3, 2020 Update

As you may already be aware the federal government passed the CARES Act in response to the crippling effect the corona virus has had on our economy.

Included in this act are many provisions to help small businesses, like yours, survive until business picks up again.  One of the provisions, the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), allows you to take a forgivable loan to keep your employees on the payroll.  Please see the links below.  These loans are being processed through local banks who are supposed to be taking applications today, April 3, 2020.

Your financial advisor and/or banker should be able to give you guidance on this.

We see this as a win-win as small businesses can keep their staff intact without their people having to wait 4-6 weeks to get an unemployment check.

March 30, 2020 Update

Marvic has learned that the Deparment of Homeland Security has designated residential new construction as “Essential Infrastructure Business”.

We do not know what that means for Pennsylvania during Governor Wolf’s current ban. Hopefully there will be clarification from our state soon.

March 23, 2020 Update

We want to pass along the Pennsylvania State Waiver/Exemption form for businesses that the state has deemed Non-Life Sustaining

Marvic has received confirmation already from one contractor that he has now been recognized as a life-sustaining business and, in his case, it took (3) days for his waiver to be processed.

As you know, we are not a law firm and cannot offer legal advice, so we cannot physically help you fill out this form. We still wanted to share this information with you, and hopefully you will be working again shortly.

March 20, 2020 Update

Pursuant to Governor Wolf’s news conference yesterday 3/19/20, we have determined that we still fall into a category of business that is allowed to continue operating and will be open for the foreseeable future. We will however be closing on Saturdays until further notice.

We must all remain vigilant in following the CDC protocols to limit the spread of this virus. Customers please call in or e-mail your orders and if you do plan on picking up materials please limit the number of your employees coming in to the branch to 1 if possible. Thank you for your understanding in these trying times.

Re: COVID-19 Response
Marvic Supply continues to monitor the situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The health of our associates, customers, and vendors is of primary concern to us. We are also concerned with the financial hardship this may cause to individuals, our customers, and small business in general. Governor Wolf has decreed that all non-essential retail businesses (gyms, theaters, malls, salons, entertainment venues) close for two weeks. We are business category that is not excluded and as such have determined that we will remain open until further notice. The challenge then becomes: “How do we respond taking all these factors into account?” I think we take it one day at a time, closely monitoring this pandemic as it evolves starting with the following:

1. Marvic sales counters will remain open for the foreseeable future.
2. We will temporarily close our showrooms to the general public. Contractors, please don’t send your homeowner customers in to look at product until things clear up.
3. We ask that contractors limit their “face-time” in the branch by calling in, or e-mailing orders instead of coming in to the counter, when possible.
4. We are instructing our associates on how to follow the protocols set up by the Centers For Disease

Control and we ask our customers to do the same. Namely:
a. Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds.
b. Keep a “social” distance of 6 feet from another person.
c. Refrain from shaking hands.
d. Refrain from touching your face

In addition common sense would dictate, now more than ever, that if you are experiencing any of the
following symptoms:
-Cough
-Fever
-Sore throat
-Difficulty breathing

Please avoid contact with other people including our staff.

We truly value the relationships we have built with our customers over the years and we hope you all stay healthy. We realize these protocols we’ve enacted are an inconvenience to you but we appreciate your patience during these trying times. This season of sickness will pass and hopefully soon we’ll be back to business as usual.
